Operation Write Home Blog Hop Saturday Oct 1st

Hi all!  I will be attending (via blog) my first OWH Blog Hop this Saturday Oct 1st.  As many of you know it's also World Card Making Day and what a perfect opportunity to put them together for a day of fun, cards, chocolate, friends and general craziness :) My husband has friends from his unit (a shout out to the guys from the 203rd MI Battalion) so I wanted to send over some love since I'm lucky to have my soldier at home.

I will post my Christmas OWH card on Saturday for the blog hop and then will post cards made through out the day so everyone can see what my friends and I have been up too.  This post is just a heads up to stop back in on Saturday and see whats cookin' along with all the other blogs that are a part of this wonderful day!

My Sweet Hubby and a Get Well Card

Hello everyone!  My sweet hubby is in the ARMY Reserves and was deployed a few years back with a lady who now has cancer.  She has 6 kids from 6 to 23 so he decided to take up a collection to help her out.  He has so far raised $400 (with more checks on the way) and asked if I would make a card so everyone could send their good wishes.  This is what I came us with.  I made it extra large so it would have room for everyone to sign and then I used one of my most favorite stamps in my collection - my chicken soup stamp from Cat's Pajamas Stamps.  I used Bazzill card stock, the patterned paper is from another fave - doodlebug, the red silk ribbon and sentiment stamp are from A Muse Studio, walnut distress ink cuz I distress everything and I colored my little chicken using Copic.

Getting Texty with Lawnscaping Challenge #18 2nd submission

Good Morning everyone!  Here is my second submission for Lawnscaping's getting texty challenge #18.  I loved this stamp from Lawn Fawn the second I saw it and not only had to have it but had to use it for this challenge.  It makes me feel all warm and cozy! :)

I used this sweet little lawn fawn fox and sentiment with Fancy Pants Hot Cocoa line from last year, a big red doodlebug button, satin ribbon from A Muse Studio in pepple and from my old stash that I've hoarded over the years 3 crystals from EK Success.  I cut out the sentiment and rolled it in some diamond dust also from A Muse Studio to give it some more dimension.  This has to be my most favorite card to date.  I have always been a scrapbooker but cards are something I have just started creating.  Enjoy my lovely little fox with her texty mug of hot cocoa!  Have an awesome day!

lets get lawnscaping! challenge #18

The awesome team over at Lawnscaping is doing a TEXT challenge on their blog (http://www.lawnscaping.blogspot.com/) so I thought I would try my hand at it since I'm in a bit of a creative slump.  I used G45's Christmas Emporium line with Lawn Fawn's cute snowman from their making frosty friends set.  Both of the ribbons are from a muse studio.  I smeared white chalk ink on the back of the tag to make the snowman stand out a bit better and to distress it a tad.  Thanks! and have a great day.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Card 4

Ok this is my last card for the Aug Sparks Challenge.  I haven't done much lately because cuties have kept me busy.  I was able to get this one done after much debate of what looked good etc.

Next I will be gearing up for Halloween.  Zoe is too little to tell me what she wants to be so I might do something silly with her costume but Holden has figured out that he wants to be...a cow.  So this should be hysterical.  He is such a silly boy that keeps me laughing all the time.

Enjoy my "welcome fall party" invite/card and I'll pop in soon with some new fun stuff.

Big Picture Classes - Big Idea Festival pages

For those who have yet to check out Big Picture Classes @ www.bigpictureclasses.com I highly recommend them.  I ran into BPC by taking one of their live classes at GASC (Great American Scrapbooking Convention) earlier this year and loved it.  The girls were super fun and easy going.  BPC offers a ton of classes for all styles and budgets.  Some of their classes are even FREE!

I signed up for one of those free classes called Big Idea Festival.  It ran for 2 weeks and while it wasn’t the best timing since I was trying to get ready for my submission to Doodlebug I didn’t want to pass it up either.  There was a different teacher and a different word each day and as of right now I only have the title page and 2 pages done but I’m going to finish off my mini album so that I can check it off my list.  See my three in total below J

Title Page:
I used the 6x6 Echo Park Country Drive paper pack and one small oval resin frame from Melissa Frances.

Less:
I used the same EP paper pad with a doodlebug chunky blue brad and orange flower from the ladybug garden collection.  I know “they” tell you to never go back but I might “go back” anyway and hand write on the actual paper instead of that huge white square I’ve got going on.

Share: I used watercolor paint to make this layout because I couldn’t find a picture I liked and the ones I took just didn't capture what I was trying to say.  I have gotten a surprising amount of wonderful feedback - everyone seems to love it.  Apparently I need to paint more!
It's funny how the layouts you're like whatever it's done on people gravitate towards.
I also wanted to give a BIG thank you to BPC and everyone from teachers to members.  I just love a community that isn't afraid to tell someone they do a great job!  :)
